الفعل المثال— Assimilated Verbs

A الفعل المثال has و or ي as its first root letter. When that letter is و, it vanishes in the مضارع: وَجَدَ becomes يَجِدُ, never يَوجِد, and the imperative collapses to a single consonant, جِدْ. The same pattern governs وَصَلَ (يَصِلُ، صِلْ) and وَقَفَ (يَقِفُ، قِفْ).
