الفعل الناقص— Defective Verbs

A الفعل الناقص has a weak final root letter, and it comes in three patterns: دَعَا / يَدْعُو, مَشَى / يَمْشِي, and نَسِيَ / يَنْسَى. In every case the imperative drops that final weak letter entirely, leaving only the vowel that pointed to it: اُدْعُ، اِمْشِ، اِنْسَ.
