الفعل المضاعف— Doubled Verbs
A الفعل المضاعف has identical 2nd and 3rd root letters, merged into one geminated letter — رَدَّ، ظَنَّ، مَرَّ. That gemination stays intact through most conjugations (يَرُدُّ، رُدَّ), but separates whenever a sukūn-initial suffix attaches, to avoid stacking three consonants — رَدَدْتُ (not رَدَّتُ), يَرْدُدْنَ (not يَرُدُّنَ).
