نِعْمَ وبِئْسَ— Praise and Blame

نِعْمَ and بِئْسَ are frozen (جامد) past-tense verbs that generate praise or blame. Structure: verb + فاعل + مخصوص — the فاعل (definite with أل) names the category, and the مخصوص pins the judgment on one specific noun. نِعْمَ الرَّجُلُ بِلَالٌ ("What an excellent man Bilal is!"), بِئْسَ الْخُلُقُ الْكَذِبُ ("What a bad trait lying is!").
