نون التوكيد— The Emphatic Nūn

There are two forms: heavy ـَنَّ and light ـَنْ. Attached directly to a singular present-tense verb (or an imperative), the verb becomes مبني على الفتح — built on فتحة — instead of keeping its usual indicative, subjunctive, or jussive inflection. وَاللّٰهِ لَأَكْتُبَنَّ الدَّرْسَ! ("By Allah, I will surely write the lesson!"), لَا تَذْهَبَنَّ! ("Do not go!").
